Dominick Atencio

Dominick Lee Atencio has left us to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021. He was born at home in Cortez, CO on January 13, 1985. He is survived by his father Ronald Atencio and mother Vickie Atencio; his wife Kayla Welch; sisters Angela (Rosalinda Torres), Brandi, and Krista Atencio; brothers Patrick (TK), and Orlando (Alicia) Atencio; many nieces and nephews including Mariah (Ricky Evans) and Eric (Ashlynn) McKethan, Mickey (Felisha) Shamy, Darrius (Summer) and Kyenan Daniels, Nevaeh, Nia, Santiana, and Orlando Jr. Atencio, Faizon, Lazariah, Janarion, Faith, Levi, Patrick, Jordan Atencio, and Adriana Bartley, Aleashea and Devon Prescott, and great-nieces Leia Evans, and Camilla and Katalaya Shamy; and his Grandmother Dorothy Martinez Atencio.

Dominick is preceded in death by his papa Lionel Atencio, his aunt Dora Meheirng, his grandfathers Orlando Atencio, and Levi Tucson; his great-grandfathers, Carlos Tucson, Benji Caraveo, Alfonso Atencio, and Alcadeo Vigil; his grandmother Cecilia Caraveo and great-grandmothers, Maria Atencio, Polita Tucson, Faustina Tucson, and Jenny Vigil

Dominick loved working and keeping himself busy. He had the biggest heart. He was the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back, even if he was down and out. In his younger years he loved Boxing (11th St with Jose Herrera) also La Familia Boxing.  Dominick also participated in special olympics competitions, and Tim Tebow's "A night to shine" Prom.  Even though he was the Lil' man he still stood strong. He will be missed by his family and friends (Homies).

Viewing will be held on March 5, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Farmington Funeral Home 2111 W. Apache St, Farmington NM.

DOM THERE IS SOOO MANY MEMORIES ONE OF MOST FONDEST MEMORIES HAVE IS WHEN WE WERE LITTLE AND HAVE CONTESTS TO SEE WHO COULD STAY UP THE LATEST AND WED ALL B SPLASHING FACES WITH COLD WATER. WE HAD SOO MANY FUN DRIVES ALL SMOOSEHD TOGETHER IN BACKSEAT OF UR MOM N DADS CAR LOL!! IM THANKFUL TO HAVE HAD THE TIME WITH U THAT WE DID!! THANK U FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE WHEN NEEDED TALK AND FOR BEING YOU!! I LOVE U GODBROTHER AND WE WILL MISS U SOOO MUCH!! UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN MAY U REST IN PEACE!! WE LOVE YOU!!
