Anna Mae was born in a church basement in Red Valley, Arizona, June 8, 1944. She was raised by her grandparents Nancy and John Redhouse. Anna Mae attended Rehoboth Christian School in Rehoboth, New Mexico and Fort Sill Indian School in Lawton, Oklahoma before studying Elementary Education at the University of New Mexico.
Anna Mae was a woman of unwavering faith and profound love for her family. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reform Church of Shiprock, New Mexico and played the piano. She helped other churches on the reservation with her beloved husband and was involved in church leadership, bible study, worship services, and community outreach.
Anna Mae had a passion for teaching which led her to a career in education. She taught preschool through 5th grade at several schools in Shiprock, New Mexico and Red Valley, Arizona for over 30 years, where she loved the rewards of educating the next generation.
She will be forever remembered for her boundless love, infectious smile, selflessness, boisterous laugh, and most all her faith in God.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Harvey, Sr., daughter Audrey Harvey, sisters Priscilla Wilson and Mary Ann Pete, brothers Gilbert Johnson and Leroy Johnson, father Wilbert Mark, and grandparents Nancy and John Redhouse.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith to her children Larry Harvey, Jr. and Arleen Franklin (Tony), and her beloved grandchildren Tory Franklin (LeShona), Autumn Harvey, Elijah Harvey, and one great-grandson Tyren Franklin. She leaves behind her mother Lena Johnson, 8 brothers and 9 sisters.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 25 at 10 a.m., at Hills Church, 5101 N. Dustin Ave., Farmington, New Mexico. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
