Anthony Raymond Montano, 81 of Bloomfield, passed away on October 24, 2025. He was born February 8, 1944, in Albuquerque, NM to Apolinario and Margarita Montano.

Ray was born in Albuquerque and raised in Corrales, NM. He graduated from Valley High School in 1962. Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served our country and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

After returning home from the military, he began his career as an electrician and met the love of his life, Jolanda (Barela) Montano. They married in April of 1974. In January of 1975, they welcomed their first child, Anthony. Ray and Jolanda relocated from Corrales to Farmington, NM where Ray worked for various companies. In September of 1978, they welcomed their second child, Matthew. Ray spent the next 42 years working as a union electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Ray and Jolanda built a peaceful and beautiful life together in Bloomfield.

Ray will be remembered for his dedication to his job, teaching his sons how to fix everything, telling stories of his childhood, military years, and work experiences. He enjoyed four wheeling and working with his hands. Above all, he cherished the 51 years he spent with his wife.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Apolinario and Margarita Montano; brothers Frank Montano, Max Montano, Paul Montano, and Benny Montano; sister Almida Montano.

He is survived by his loving wife Jolanda Montano; sons Anthony R. Montano, Jr. and Matthew A. (Christin) Montano; brother Norman Montano; sisters Fita Hernandez and Mary Martinez; grandchildren Jacob Montano, Maya Montano, Cainen Montano, Euriah Montano, and Easton Montano.

A rosary will be at 10:30am on Friday, November 21, 2025. Mass will follow at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington with Father Frank Chacon officiating. A reception will take place immediately following the services in the Parish Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers are Anthony R. Montano, Jr. and Matthew A. Montano.
