"Mama Sue"
Our Beloved Barbara Ellen "Sue" Pate, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was called home on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in the arms of her family. Sue was born on May 4, 1935, to Walter and Laura Young in Maud, OK. Sue married Robert "Bob" E. Pate in 1953 and shortly after they moved to Aztec, NM. There they raised four beautiful children: Vicki (Joe) McWilliams, Bobby Pate, Coy Pate, and Laura (Rory) Truby. Sue was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Robby McWilliams, Angie McWilliams, Alyssa Howells, Parker Pate, Wesley Pate, Brad Pate, Jolyn Enright, Cody Pate, Brit Cotney, Dayvin Pate, Tucker Truby, Cali Truby, and Jaci Truby and nineteen great grandchildren. Sue is survived by all her children and a dear sister, Carol Bandy. Sue also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sue was preceded in death by: her parents (Walter and Laura Young), husband (Robert Pate), two grandsons (Parker Pate and Tucker Truby), and four siblings (Dorris Hynes, Oteka Maness, Billye Jo DePriest, and Jim Young).
Mama Sue centered her life around her children and grandkids. You could always find Mama Sue in the bleachers, cheering on and supporting every sporting event and activity that generations of kids were a part of. Mama Sue was our world, and she was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. Our lives will forever suffer the loss of this great and wonderful lady. Her love for the Lord was eternal and she loved her family with her "Whole Heart."
A memorial Service for Sue will be on
