A Loving Tribute Filled with Humor and Heart
Bethany Leann Joplin, born July 28th, 1982, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, graced the world with her bright spirit as the youngest child of Lavoyd Don Joplin and Patricia Nadene Joplin. She grew up alongside her two older brothers, Aaron Don and Thomas Derek, forming a close-knit trio that surely kept their Air Force family on its toes. Bethany's adventurous life began early her family's travels took her from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Washington, DC, and on a whirlwind European journey to Wiesbaden, Germany. After returning stateside in 1990, she lived in Alexandria, Louisiana, then San Antonio, Texas, and finally Farmington, New Mexico, in the Four Corners area, surrounded by extended family.
Bethany graduated high school in May 2000 and began her career as a CNA, caring for others in medical clinics with the same loving heart she gave to friends and family. Later, she became a bartender-don't let her slender frame fool you; Bethany could hold her own among the toughest crowds. Growing up with two older brothers made her resilient, quick-witted, and never afraid to speak her mind. She was always there for those in need, ready to lend a hand or dish out some tough love when warranted.
It was during this time that Bethany met the love of her life, Jason D'Armõnd, embarking on adventures across the country as Jason worked the oil fields and pipelines. Despite being told she could never have children, Bethany and Jason welcomed their miracle daughter, Kayla D'Armõnd, in December 2012. With determination and heart, Bethany worked alongside Jason while raising Kayla, until Jason's passing left mother and daughter to return to Farmington, where Bethany lovingly raised Kayla until her own passing.
Bethany's sense of humor was legendary, she loved deeply, fought fiercely, and stood by her friends with unwavering loyalty. She could drop everything in a heartbeat if someone needed her, and she never hesitated to put you in your place if necessary. Headstrong and independent from the start, Bethany was truly a "ride or die." Upon returning to Farmington, the family settled on Don Rovin Lane, where Bethany and her brother gained new "brothers from another mother." Together, they were fondly known as the Don Rovin Gang a crew that surely provided more than a few stories and laughs.
If you shared a meal with Bethany, you quickly discovered her unconditional love for cheese a passion from childhood that never wavered. She adored the outdoors, camping and fishing as her father Don had taught her, and she cared deeply for animals, leaving behind four beloved German Shepherds. Bethany wore her emotions on her sleeve; you always knew exactly how she felt. She cherished the color purple and, like Trish, appreciated butterflies and hummingbirds-simple sources of joy and beauty in her life.
Bethany lived life with humor, passion, and generosity. Her heart, her laughter, and her stubborn strength will be missed by all who knew her. If you ever needed a friend, a laugh, or the truth delivered with a wink, Bethany was the one you called. Her legacy of love and resilience shines brightly in Kayla and in the countless lives she touched. We celebrate Bethany's life, her adventures, and her cheese may her mischievous spirit live on in every fond memory.
