Billy John Chambers, Jr. was born on June 24, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas to Billy John Chambers, Sr. and Julia Chambers. John died May 11, 2026, after a long illness with Alzheimer's Disease. John attended Cornado High School in Lubbock and graduated in 1972. John attended the University of Colorado, at Boulder, and graduated in 1977 with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
John worked for the City of Farmington Electric Utility as an Electrical Engineer for over 36 years.
John met Brenda Dunn, in 1984 and they dated for ten years. John and Brenda married on September 17, 1994, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Aztec, New Mexico and were married until John's death.
John was preceded in death by his dad, Bill, and his mother, Julia.
John had no brothers and sisters but had two sister-in-laws, Becky Dunn and Stacy (Kit) Curtis. John had two brother-in-laws Larry Dunn and Eric (Ampa) Gidney. John had nieces by marriage. They are Shannon Buckley (Neil Carson), Katrina Dunn (Aaron Reinland), Rhiannon (Ezra) Kennedy, and Katie (Harrison) Lambeth. John had nephews by marriage. They are Christopher Dunn, Johnny Buckley, and Nathan Wood. John had great nieces and nephews by marriage. They are Jamee and Michael Buckley-Nix.
John loved his Papillons. They were Abby, Esperanza, Picasso, Isabel, Daisy and Esperanza 2.
You are invited to John's Funeral Mass, which will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen on Farmington on May 20,2026. Father Tim Farrell will be officiating the Mass. There will be a viewing at 9:00 a.m., followed by a rosary at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow the Funeral Mass, at Memory Gardens.
