Brigitte Herta "Fraulein" Gallegos

Brigitte Herta "Fraulein" Gallegos, 72, of Bloomfield, NM, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Farmington, NM. She was born on February 23, 1954, in Frankfurt, Germany to Karl and Elsie Ermel. 

Brigitte was a vibrant, free-spirited woman whose life was defined by love, creativity, and adventure. A devoted grandmother with a playful heart, she brought joy and laughter wherever she went, leaving lasting impressions on everyone lucky enough to know her. 

She lived her life on her own terms—fearless and carefree— with a passion for riding motorcycles that reflected her bold and adventurous soul. The open road was one of her greatest joys, a place where she felt truly alive and free. 

Brigitte was also a gifted artist, expressing her creativity in ways that captured both her beauty and emotion. Her work was a reflection of her spirit—colorful, expressive, and full of life. 

Above all, Brigitte cherished her family. She held a deep love and commitment to her husband, always putting him first, and created a home filled with warmth, loyalty, and care. As a grandmother, she is both nurturing and fun-loving, building special bonds and unforgettable memories with her grandchildren. 

Brigitte's legacy is one of love, strength, creativity, and a fearless embrace of life. She will be remembered for her big heart, her adventurous spirit, and the beautiful way she lived every moment. 

Brigitte is preceded in death by her parents Karl and Elsie Ermel. 

She is survived by her husband, Marcelino M. Gallegos; son Randy Shields, stepsons Ambro (Laura), Alex (Meagan), Bryan Shields (Courtney), stepdaughter Jeanette Suniga; brother Wolfgang Ermel (Annetta), Best Friend Cherrie Wahler, and grandchildren Dayton Shields (Danielle), Jordan Shields (Katlynn), Halie, Bryce, Nicolas, Daniel, Andres, Mathias, Ambro Jr, Manulito, Lino, Mario, Emeleo, and great-grandson Kayson. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the San Rafeal Cemetery, in San Rafeal, NM. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Dayton, Randy, Ambro, Jordan, Marlin and Nico.
