Carolyn Jane " Gabehart" Allen

Oct 3, 1938 — Jul 10, 2026

Aztec, New Mexico

In her lifetime, Carolyn was defined by her devotion to God, Family, and Friends. Her daily study of God's Word, gave her a graceful and merciful Spirit, she loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her joyful spirit was evident to all that knew her and she loved talking about her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She loved spending time with friends and family and always looking forward to hosting large family gatherings at her home, playing games, where some said she cheated a bit. She found great delight having others around the dinner table that was filled with laughter and love (loved those hugs from everyone). She will always be the heartbeat of our family, what an affectionate and loving example for all of us.

Carolyn Jane Allen was born on October 3, 1938 in Silver City, New Mexico to Stanley and Nadine Campbell. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the age of 87 at Cranes Roost in Aztec. She is survived by her husband; David Allen of Farmington; Sons Don Johnson (Judy) of Aztec, Mike Johnson (Debby) of Aztec, Kevin Johnson (Hiedi) of Aztec, her only daughter Linda Dennard (Teddy) of Lubbock; Sister; Connie Ogden (Sam) of North Richland Hills, Texas; Step-children Rhonda Auld (Dan) of Rio Frio, Texas, Dianne Fenton of New Boston, Texas, Cheryl Phelps (Jerry) of Kerrville, Texas, Misti Verdahl (Robert) of Farmington, Daniel Allen (Kathy) of Maryland; Nieces, Shawna Reid (Chris) and Amy Cashatt (Drew), and Nephew Stephen Campbell (Cory). She was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and 8 step-great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley R and Nadine Campbell, her brother Stanley N. Campbell (Carol), and her prior husband Glen Gabehart of Aztec who fought cancer courageously.

Carolyn was a long-time resident of Aztec, attended Aztec High School and worked at San Juan College for many years. She married David Allen on March 10, 2012 after the passing of her prior husband Glen Gabehart in 2008.

A special thank you to Judy Johnson, Shawna Reid, and Kim Johnson who spend the last hours caring for her and for Cranes Roost staff for the exemplary effort to make her a home and feel loved. Thank you to David Allen for regularly being there for her throughout her battle with dementia and cancer.

She will always be highly cherished as one who loved and excepted everyone unconditionally especially family and friends, she did not judge others. Her core Godly values truly impacted our family with such positivity. She will always be remembered in our minds and hearts. I thank God that she knew Jesus and is now walking on streets of gold with the one and only true loving God, no more pain, no more sorrow, only love and a true place in heaven with passed loved ones.
