Cassie Ann Canuto

Cassie “Kizzy” Ann Canuto, 47 of Nageezi, NM, passed away on January 19th, 2024. Kizzy was born on December 31,1976 in Shiprock,NM to Annie Chavez and Herman Canuto

Kizzy’s clans are: She is Born to Nihóbáanii doo Haltsoí, Ashįįhí Born For: Nihóbáanii, Tódích’ii’nii

Kizzy studied in Roswell, NM at the Job Corps, where she earned her carpentry degree. Kizzy loved to travel and visited many states like Texas, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada. She enjoyed making dream catchers, woodworks, painting, drawing and making Jewely. Kizzy also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Kizzy is preceded in death by, her brother Brandon “Smurf” Canuto, her grandparents Joe and Evelyn Canuto, Teddy and Isabel Chavez, Raymond Chavez and Hary Chavez.

Kizzy is survived by her daughters Lyric (Daniel) Aviles, Regina, Chasity, Frances Williams, Her parents Annie Chavez and Herman Canuto, her brothers Landon Canuto, Piper Canuto Russell Sandoval, her sisters Joni Betoni and Maye Randolph, and her grandchildren Emma Xochitl Aviles, Daniel Xavier Aviles, and Amora Xiemena Aviles.

Services for Kizzy will be held on January 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Heaven Bound Community church, services will be officiated by Rosita Atencio.

Burial will follow the services at the Canuto family plot. A reception will be held for Kizzy at the Nageezi chapter house following burial.

Serving as Pallbearers are; Maye Randolph, Sabrina Wallace, Loren T. Beyale, Samson Harrison, Virgil Canuto and Kedrick Platero.
