Charles Eavenson 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Bloomfield NM on December 1, 2017. He was born September 12, 1934 in Seymour Texas to Ernest Walker Eavenson and Katie Mae (Williams) Eavenson. He was the 10th child of 11.

He moved to New Mexico as a child with his mother and siblings. He always considered New Mexico home and spent most of his life in the Albuquerque and Aztec areas. He provided for his family working as a truck driver and welder. Charles enjoyed fabricating all sorts of things from motor homes to horse trailers. He was known by many for the horses he raised. His favorite past times were fishing, raising horses, and of course his grandchildren whom he was extremely proud.

Charles will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always telling a story or giving people hell. He will surely be missed by all.

Charles was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers; Lee Eavenson, HB Eavenson, Roy Eavenson, JC Eavenson, Cecil Eavenson, and Jack Eavenson, respected brother-in-law; Crag Mauldin and Chester Cox sisters; Ruth Eavenson, Jane Eavenson, Inez Cox, and Irene Hailey, and wife Joan Eavenson. He is survived by sister Joyce Mauldin; his sons Roy John Eavenson (Misty) of Aztec, Craig Eavenson (Melissa) of Bernalillo, and Chuck Eavenson (Norma) of Oregon; daughters Tamara Blair (Gary) of California, Tarra Douglas (Ridge) of Nevada, and grandchildren Anthony Charles “ACE” Eavenson, Rory Ford Eavenson, and Lilly Racine Eavenson all of Aztec, Amanda Mae Eavenson of Bernalillo, Jason Palmer, Josh Palmer, Christy Gutierrez, Sari Wild, Jenni White, and Amy Tracy all of California, and 10 great grandchildren.  Charles is also survived by lifelong friend and partner in crime, Paskell “Packy” Vaughn of Las Cruces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10 AM at the Church of Christ, 201 Ruins Road, Aztec, NM.  The family invites you to the home of Roy and Misty Eavenson following the service to share a meal and stories to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take your loved ones fishing to honor Charles.
