Clifford H. “Hosie” Munroe Mosley was called home to Heaven November 2, 2025, leaving behind a family who love him deeply. After hearing a welcome, “my good and faithful servant”, his father, Clifford Asa Mosley, surely was waiting for him with a game of chess or marbles, and a smile. Born in California on March 17, 1956, at McClellan Air Force Base, to Clifford Asa Mosley and Barbara Williams, Cliff followed in his father’s military service footprints and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as an Infantryman and earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He was a proud member of the Airborne community and having earned his Parachute Badge, he loved to remind people that he was, “airborne all the way”. He received the Army Commendation Medal, the Sharpshooter Badge, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon. His time in the Army shaped him deeply and he carried that pride throughout his life.

During his time overseas, he met a beautiful Italian woman, Franca, and convinced her to leave her northern Italian home to build a life with him in Bloomfield, New Mexico. After several years there, Cliff returned with his family to Italy, where they lived for 7 years. He learned the language, mastered the metric system, and deepened his love for construction and craftsmanship. Cliff loved living in Italy, and his Italian family loved him right back. In 1995, Cliff and his family returned to Bloomfield, where he founded Asa Construction Company. He took great pride in his work, though his boundless generosity often meant putting others’ needs before his own. Cliff never knew how to say “no”. He helped to a fault, offering his time, skill, and heart to anyone who needed it. In his later years, Cliff found deep joy in time spent with his family. He celebrated his daughter, Penny’s wedding in Puerto Rico, attended his grandson, Alec’s college graduation and granddaughter, Cassie’s high school graduation, and cheered on his beloved Cowboys at his first NFL game. Just a week before his passing, he was planning a trip with Shannon to see the Eagles play in Las Vegas. He was happy, living life with freedom most would never understand.

Cliff was a faithful member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and deeply loved his church family, who brought him encouragement, friendship, and fellowship that strengthened his faith and spirit. He was, above all else, a helper. One who gave more than he ever asked for in return. In a reflection of who he was throughout his life, Cliff died doing what came naturally to him, helping someone in need. Even in his final moments, while riding the motorcycle he loved, on a beautiful autumn evening, he was being the hands and feet of God. Cliff loved motorcycles, laughter, and mischief in equal measure. He was famous for his pranks, his laugh, and his even bigger heart. He enjoyed chess and taught his children how to play. He took pride in hard work and found joy in the camaraderie of working alongside others.

Among his belongings, were found handwritten notes he had wrote to his children. Messages that spoke to the depth of his love for them. In one, he asked that their mother, Franca, know he loved her, “till the time I died” and that he had never stopped loving her. These notes, left thoughtfully among the everyday chaos of life, were a final reassurance of what had always been true: his children were his greatest priority, and the love he held for his family endured every season of his life. Everyone who knew Cliff has a story that will bring a smile to your face. He was loved by many, and though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in every act of kindness and every moment of love shared in his memory.

He is survived by his wife, Franca; his children, Dr. Shannon Moseley, Penny and her husband Wal Lugo Casasus, and Ryan and his wife Candy Mosley; and his 10 beloved grandchildren-Arik, Alec, Cassie, Connor, Cameron, Kyle, Brayden, Mason, Meredith, and Wesley. He is also survived by his doting mother, Barbara Williams; his loving siblings, Darla Beinaraukas, Barbara (Rick) Pope, and Vi-Nell (Mike) Clark, Amanda (Wayne) Hislop, and Bo (Amanda) Rice; and a large extended family and circle of friends who will carry his memory with them always.

A memorial service will be held at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, in Farmington, NM, on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial of his ashes will follow.
