Connie Merilene Polanco

December 5, 1963 — October 3, 2023

Farmington

Connie Merilene Polanco, 59, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on October 3, 2023, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Connie was born on December 5, 1963, in Durango, Colorado to parents Clearl Don Killgore and Dorothy Lemons.

Connie grew up in the beautiful town of Aztec, New Mexico, where she had the pleasure of meeting Enrique Polanco. Together, they built a loving home and raised their children, throughout 31 years of marriage.  They started multiple businesses from scratch. After their marriage Connie's determination and hard work paid off, and she became a successful business owner, partnering with her son to establish Zia Wire Rope.

Throughout her life, Connie faced numerous challenges, but she never allowed them to hinder her progress. One of her greatest joys was traveling, and she had the opportunity to explore different parts of the world. As her last adventure, she decided to move to Las Cruces, NM, to be closer to her beloved family.

Connie was not only our mom, but she was also like a mother figure to many others. She had a kind and wise heart that went beyond her years. Her faith was a source of strength for her, and she was always ready to share her love for God with anyone who would listen. Her doors were always open to everyone, whether it was for a meaningful chat over a cup of coffee, engaging in crafts, or anything in between. She played many roles in life - a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend - and she loved each and every one of us unconditionally. And in return, she was cherished and loved even more.

Connie is preceded by her parents Clearl Killgore and Dorothy Lemons, stepdad dad Curley Lemons, and five infant siblings, grandparents Marvin and Arlene Jobes, Artie Marvin, and Mary Della “Havens” Killgore, and grandchild Sammuel Adair.

Connie is survived by her son Enrique (Vanessa) Polanco, daughters Malissa (Arturo) Ronquillo, Lisa (Kelley) Rielley, and Michelle (Andrew) Hoefer, brother Rocky L. Killgore, grandchildren Alex, Larissa, Monique, Lizannette, Denise, Venus, Michael, Lily, Mary, Andrew “Bubba”, Alexiea, Macy, Isabella, and great grandchildren Sebastian, Forest, Lennon, Leolani, including many nieces and nephews, and numerous loved ones.
