It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved father, Donald “Skip” Hockett who returned to his Heavenly Home on September 14, 2025 at the age of 69.
While our world feels dimmer without him, we find peace in knowing that he is now reunited with the love of his life, Claudine.
Skip was more than just a loving husband and father, —he was our steady hand, our quiet strength, and calm in the storm. A man of integrity, humor, and humility—never one to seek attention, yet always there when it mattered most. Born on September 1, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He lived a life marked by kindness and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Skip worked hard, loved deeply, and taught his children by example the values of honesty, perseverance, hard work and compassion. Whether through quiet moments of advice or shared laughter under the hood of a car, his presence was a constant source of comfort and wisdom.
Skip is preceded in death by his loving wife Claudine, his parents Allie and Victor Hockett, his brothers James, Dale, David, and his sisters Vicki, Shirley , and Linda.
He leaves behind his children; Christy (Lynn), Victor (Darla), Leah (Bryce) and Jimmy (Heather), and his grandchildren who will forever carry his legacy forward. His stories, his laughter, and his quiet wisdom will echo in our hearts for the rest of our lives but we will find comfort in the knowledge that he will be with our mom for eternity.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Friday, September 19, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 1310 E. 25th Street in Farmington, NM. Family and friends are invited to come and honor his life.
