Donald King, 89, from Farmington, New Mexico passed away at his home on October 6, 2026. Don was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 10, 1937 to Jean and John King. Don moved to Belen, New Mexico with his parents as a young child. He started his career as an electrical salesman, in Albuquerque before moving to Farmington in the 70's where he worked at the PNM power plant as an electrician for a short time before starting his own business, Don King Construction in 1976. He ran his own business for over 40 years. He worked on many homes and businesses in and around Farmington. He thoroughly enjoyed going to the horse races, trying to beat the odds playing craps at a casino, or panning for gold in Colorado. Don is preceded in death by his parents, and his two sisters Patricia Westberry and Kathleen Schultz. He is survived by his wife, Mary of 56 years, his Daughter Donna Norero and husband Phil, son Kenneth King and his wife Lori, son Russell King and his wife Valeta, his son Daniel King and his wife Ellen, and his daughter Corinne Fentiman and her husband James, his 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will be honoring Don's wishes to be cremated with no formal services.
