Edgar Lloyd Magruder, 91 of Farmington, went to his final resting place on Monday, March 2nd, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Lloyd was born September 20th, 1934 to Ed and Nellie Magruder in Loveland, Colorado.

Lloyd met Sally the love of his life and they were married on Oct. 24th, 1956. They had three children, and in September 1966, they moved to Farmington, NM where Lloyd began working at Navajo Mine. He took great pride in his work and the life it provided for him and his family. Lloyd retired from BHP Billiton in 1997.

He had many passions in life – traveling, fishing, going out to eat breakfast, the Denver Broncos (who also gave him plenty to be upset about) and watching his great grandson play baseball. Above all, his greatest love was his family. Those who knew him, understood that his family was his entire world.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; father, Ed Magruder; mother, Nellie Magruder; wife, Sally Magruder; son, Steve Magruder; and grandson Steven Magruder. He leaves behind his daughter Chris (Arlen) of Farmington, NM; son Scott Magruder (Tammy) of Bayfield, CO; granddaughter, Levi (Carlos) of Farmington, NM; great grandchildren Alexxa (Tristan) of Austin, TX and Carson of Farmington, NM; sister Bonnie (Bill) of Conroe, TX and many colleagues and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday March 5th, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday March 6th, 2026 at 10:00 am both located at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St., Farmington, NM 87401. Lloyd will be taken to Greenlawn Cemetery following services for burial.

Pallbearers are Scott Magruder, Carson Padilla, Arlen Cochran, Carlos Padilla, Chuck Padilla and Bill Cochran.

Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Magruder and Steven Magruder.
