Our loving Mom and Grandma, Edna Muriel Roberts Clark, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022, at the age of 96.
Edna was born in Jefferson County, Oklahoma and then moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ where she graduated from high school and secretarial school. It was there she met her future husband, Harold Roberts, at a dance when he was a Shore Policeman for the Navy. Once Harold completed his service, they moved to Farmington, NM in 1945 where his family was living. Harold took over his dad's apple orchard and started working at El Paso Natural Gas, while Edna was a housewife. She then began working at Mountain Bell Telephone as an operator and was promoted to the business office, eventually retiring from there. Once both Harold and Edna were retired, they planned to travel in their motorhome to visit their four children who lived in several states. Edna was very active in the Senior Olympics for 30 years, participating in numerous city, state, and national competitions. She loved the many awards and ribbons from her accomplishments. She loved gardening and was proud of all the flowers that she grew in her yard. You never went to her house when she wouldn't ask you to play some kind of game with her, especially Skip Bo or croquet. She also loved to dance and many in her neighborhood knew her because of her daily walks. She made countless, dear friends during her lifetime. She was married to Harold for 45 years before he passed away. She was then married to Frank Clark for 23 years.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Edna Sharp, her brother Alvin, husbands Harold and Frank, two sons Bruce and Ray, brothers- in-law Donald Roberts, Norman Roberts, and sisters- in- law Thelma Tinnin, Coralie Huntington, and Alice Heusel.
She is survived by her sister Freda and brother-in-law Mickey Toliver; her children and grandchildren including daughter Marilyn and her children Ryan and Lauri; Glenn, and wife Josefine and their children Kelly and Kimberly, Ray's daughter Traci, and Bruce's children Bruce, Aaron, Debbie, and Alexis, along with several great and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She gave us all so much love with many wonderful times, funny moments, and special memories to remember her by. She will be truly missed, but she will always be in our hearts. A private family service has been held with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
The Roberts family would like to give a special thanks to Crane's Roost Care Home in Aztec, NM for their love, support, and dedication to their family.
