Ellanette Nelson

On July 21, 2022, Ellanette Nelson, who went by Ellane, passed away unexpectedly in Crested Butte, Colorado while with her family. Ellane was born in Otis, New Mexico to Elmer Sr. and Eva Brown in 1963. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1981 and attended San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico. In March of 1982, she married Johnny Nelson and they shared 40 years of marriage together. They raised two daughters, Alecia and Erica in Kirtland, and were active members of Pinon Hills Church in Farmington for many years until they relocated to Las Vegas, NV.

Ellane devoted her time to serving her church and community of Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed spending time with her family exploring the outdoors, especially the mountains. She treasured her time with her grandchildren, loved taking pictures, and was also an enthusiastic Golden Knights hockey fan.

Ellane is preceded in death by her oldest brother Davis Floyd Brown. She is survived by her husband, John, her two daughters, Alecia Doty and Erica Nelson, her four grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Because Ellane loved serving others, please consider donating to Hope for the City in Las Vegas, NV. Ellane was passionate about partnering with this mission to "bring hope to hungry children and their families" by providing food and resources to people in need throughout the year.
