Elma Caroline Harris Palmer, 82, of Bloomfield NM, passed on September 9, 2025, in her home in Bloomfield, NM. She was born on October 9, 1942, in Redmesa, CO. She lived with her family in Colorado, Washington, and Utah. She graduated from Moab, Utah school district in 1960. She loved music and family. She met Ivin Palmer in November 1960 at a church dance. They were married in the Manti Temple in Manti, UT in February 1961. They moved to Tiffany, Colorado where they raised 8 children. A big part of her life was raising large amounts of garden produce with Ivin, canning that produce and chasing babies. She also held various positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed doing genealogy. She also drove a school bus for 11 years for the Ignacio school district.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Ivin), her parents, two brothers, one sister, and one child (Samantha).
She is survived by one brother, four sisters, seven of her children: Ivin James, Ryan Lance (Susan), Aaron Kipling, Tiffany Sue, Paul Mer (Shannon), Pavin Roy (Kelli), and Chandra Starr (Jay). She also has 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, with one more expected in December and lots of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 902 W. Blanco Blvd, Bloomfield, NM 87413 with internment to follow at the Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery at 59 Road 6575, Kirtland, NM 87417. Luncheon to follow back at the church in Bloomfield, NM.
