Ernest Begay Jr., 46, of Farmington, NM passed away on April 14, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1980, in Shiprock, NM to Ernest and Rena Begay. Born to Tabaahi (Water Edge) Born for Naashaashi (Bear).

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was cherished by his mother, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Ernest (Akee) attended Bloomfield schools and obtained his high school diploma. He previously worked for Navajo Agricultural products industry and Navajo Mesa Farms. He was known for his passions of artwork, drawings, and paintings. Ernest will be missed but we will always carry the joyful memories of him in our hearts. 

Our family would like to thank you for the kind expressions of sympathy. Your generous support during this difficult time will always be remembered. 

He is preceded in death by his father Ernest Nez Begay Sr., maternal grandparents Paul and Mammie Jones, and paternal grandparents Willie and Lilly Nez Begay. 

Ernest is survived by his mother Rena Begay, brother Calvin Begay, sisters Elrina Begay, Ernestine B. Toledo, Effie Antonio, Marilyn Begay, Trina Begay, and Lillian Woody. 

A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday April 30, 2026, at Bloomfield Assembly of God. Officiated by Ben Stoner. Burial will follow at 12:00 PM at East Hammond Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Lydell K. Toledo, Daniel Woody, Devonte Woody, Jehmiah Woody, Jeremiah Woody, and Henry Yazzie.
