Evangeline "Vangie" Casaus Montano of Bloomfield, New Mexico, died peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on January 13, 2023, at LifeCare Center of Farmington at the tender age of 92. Vangie was born in La Jara, New Mexico on December 31, 1930, to Aniceto Casaus and Pablita (Garcia) Casaus. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 70 years Paul Montano, and parents Aniceto Casaus and Pablita Casaus. After her husband, retired from Civil service they decided to settle down in Kirtland, New Mexico to be closer to family. Several years after their youngest left the nest they moved to Bernalillo, New Mexico. Upon moving there and being retired, she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren. Vangie will always be remembered as the loving big sister to many whether biologically or otherwise. She will also be remembered as the best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will miss her fabulous cooking, advice, kisses, hugs, and most of all her cheeky comments.
