Evertt C. Hesser Jr. ("Chuck") 82 entered into the arms of Jesus on February 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. Chuck was born on August 10, 1943, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Evertt C. Hesser Sr. and Florisala Hesser. He was the oldest of four children. While his father was in the service, Chuck and his mother moved to California. The family later moved to Ohio and, in 1956, settled in Farmington, New Mexico.
Chuck attended school in Kirtland, New Mexico, where he was an exceptional athlete. Baseball was his first love. After graduation, he worked for Advanced Supply Company for a year before attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he earned a place on the Dean's List. He later transferred to Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, earning his bachelor's degree in business.
After graduating, Chuck took a position with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, living in California, Texas, and Maryland. During this time with the company, he received numerous awards for his outstanding service.
He eventually returned to Farmington and briefly sold automobiles before entering the oil industry. Chuck worked for Aztec Well Service for more than 40 years. He started at the bottom and worked his way up to Superintendent, taking immense pride in Rig 301 and his crew.
Chuck was actively involved in several youth organizations and activities throughout the community and found great joy in supporting and mentoring young people. Chuck's love for baseball led him to coach players of every age. To this day, the kids he coached respect him and thank him for the lessons he taught both on and off the field. He was also deeply involved in the Aztec Wrestling Program, faithfully giving a scholarship each year in honor of his late son.
Chuck was the proud father of eight children and found great joy in his family. He will be remembered and admired for his achievements, influence, character and larger than life stories that will be passed down for generations.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Evertt Sr. and Flora Hesser, his three sons, Kevin Hesser, EC Rex Hesser, Evertt Hesser III (Chucky) and sister Madella Kannard.
He is survived by his five children: Dr. Brian Hesser and wife Maurice, Denise Hesser, Keith Hesser and husband Jaime, Holly Bryant and husband Jeremy Bryant, Tiffany Giffith Hesser and wife Sarah Griffith Hesser, his sisters, Sue Hesser Holt, and Beverly Poulin and husband Larry Poulin, his brother in law Richard Kannard, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom adore him.
