Florene Rhynalds Williams

Flo was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on July 8, 1932 to Ralph Jasper and Irene Schwenker Rhynalds.

She met Bob Williams at a malt shop in Dodge City. He asked her to go to a basketball game, and about six months later they were married. They soon moved to Albuquerque where their new life together began. Flo attended UNM in Albuquerque where she studied music and business. She taught piano lessons for a while and shared her talent with the family every year at Christmas by playing her favorite rendition of Silent Night.

The two moved to Farmington in 1953. To their union were born two daughters, Valerie and Melanie. Flo stayed home with their daughters while the girls were in school. After Melanie graduated from high school, Flo worked at a dentist office and later at the law firm, Tansey, Rosebrough, Roberts and Gerding, as bookkeeper. She became very proficient with computers and was more technologically savvy than most of her generation.

Flo loved to play bridge and enjoyed playing with many different groups. She and Bob hosted many Rotary Exchange Students and a few of them are still dear family friends, even all these decades later. She was an incredible Mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally and going on cruises and did so on a regular basis most of her life. She was so positive and always had a smile to share.

Flo is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Williams Uselman (Mark) and Melanie Williams Verce (Steve Gale), seven grandsons, Brandon Uselman (Melinda), Chad Uselman (Tia), Bryson Uselman, Symeon Uselman (Cassy), Kalen Uselman (Faith), Martin Verce (Anna) and Landon Verce (Megan) and seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Bobby Ann Tiano (Bob).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Williams, and her nephew Ralph Schantz.

She will be greatly missed and her departure from this Earth leaves a very deep hole in the hearts and lives of many who loved her dearly.

A private Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Christian Church for the immediate family only; because of Covid. A Celebration of Life will be on a date to be determined at a later time.
