Francisco Salazar Medellin

DOB: June 4, 1938

It is with deep sorrow and love that our family mourns the passing of our beloved Francisco (Frank) Salazar Medellin, 87, of Lumberton, New Mexico. With his family by his side, he went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2025. Frank was born on June 4, 1938, in Tyler, Texas to the late Malccario and Catarina Medellin. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ruben Medellin, daughter, Consuelo Williams, brother Willie Medellin Sr., and his son-in-law, Marino Talamante.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine, brother Teodoro (Eva) Medellin, his children, Larry (Judy) Castleberry, Cornelia (Mark) Martinez, Charrise (Robert) Florez, Miranda (Steve) Florez, and Audrey Talamante. Frank is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Frank worked for many years in the construction and building trades where he gained knowledge and skills that he trained and shared with others throughout his life. Through his dedication and common sense, he became Construction Supervisor for Star Construction and Jaynes Corporation companies where he supervised large construction projects throughout New Mexico and in the Four Corners Area. After retirement, he became the community construction handyman where he enjoyed helping friends and family with various building and remodeling projects. Frank enjoyed being home with Lorraine and caring for his pets and small animals while always improving his place with occasionally restoring vintage automobiles.

Frank was known for his gentle smile, strong work ethic, giving heart, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. Frank touched the lives of everyone who knew him by his kindness and willingness to help others. Our family wishes to thank relatives, friends and the excellent staff at Bloomfield Genesis Nursing and Rehabilitation for their dedicated care and family support during his final months.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosery is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 9:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St Francis Catholic Church in Lumberton, New Mexico. Interment will follow at the St Francis Catholic cemetery in Lumberton, New Mexico.
