Frank Welch

Frank Welch was born on October 19, 1935, in Tapacitas, north of Lindrith. Frank went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 5, 2026, at the age of ninety. The family and entire community of Lindrith, New Mexico will miss the dynamic presence of Frank.

In his youth, Frank served our nation in the Air Force as a helicopter mechanic stationed in Iceland. He married the love of his life in 1963, Betty Jo. Together they created a beautiful family and life in Lindrith until this very day. Frank was a dedicated member of the Lindrith Baptist Church.

An active community member and a devoted family man, Frank was present at all events in the area and supporting the youth of the region. He served on the Lindrith Recreation Association for many years and was the voice of the Lindrith Rodeo from 1968-1991. The memory of Frank riding out on his beautiful paint mare Sweetie, will reside in all our lives as a treasured moment.

Frank worked for El Paso Natural Gas from 1958 & retired in 1992. Not one to sit still, he started driving trucks until the oilfield called him back. Frank then worked for Rio Chama Resources & Elm Ridge Resources until he finally retired but was still tending to oil wells up until his last days at age 90. His favorite pastime was working on some type of truck, tractor, or equipment. Frank enjoyed team roping, roping calves, and saddle bronc riding in his younger years.

Frank is survived by his beautiful wife, Betty Jo, his son Dudley (Kristen), his daughter Sharon (Jeremy), Grandchildren, Stash (whom they raised), Dmitri (Justin), Tondi (Josh), Kristin (Daniel) & Samantha. Great- grandchildren, Franklin, Ella, Adelina, Araceli, Mason, and Genaro. Additionally, Frank will be missed by many nieces, nephews and "adopted" kids.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents William Dudley and Ivena Dargitz-Welch Brothers Charlie and Dudley, sisters Gwen, Eveyln, Velma Lee, Beatrice, and Carol, and grandson Terry Robert Putt.

Frank Welch's Memorial Service will be held at Lindrith Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11am. Please continue to pray for Betty Jo and the family.
