Georgia Ann Lucero passed away at home peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of her family.
Georgia lived a beautiful life filled with love, happiness, compassion, and faith. She was born on January 28, 1951, in Durango Colorado. She spent part of her childhood there with her father and mother before moving to Ignacio, where she lived for the remainder of her youth.
Georgia attended Ignacio High School, where she met the love of her life, Edward. She graduated in 1969 and attended Adams State College for two years.
Not long after, Georgia and Edward were married on July 3, 1971. Afterwards she attended San Juan Vocational School where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Together they moved their family to Gobernador, where they began raising their five children. Later, they settled in Turley, where they continued building a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Throughout her life, Georgia dedicated herself to serving others. She worked as an interim computer teacher at Blanco Elementary School, worked at Flora’s Kitchen, and served on the finance counsel for St Rose Parish. She was a meticulous and organized woman who took pride in caring for her home and family. Georgia was deeply devoted to the people she loved and gave endlessly of herself to them.
After converting to Catholicism shortly before her marriage, Georgia became a devoted and faithful Catholic. Her faith was central to her life, and she instilled those values in her children and grandchildren. She also served faithfully in the Ladies Guild for many years.
Georgia was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and stepsister; and her youngest son, Clifford.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward; her children Edward (Justian), Antonio and Tasha, Christopher and Kristi, and Lori; her grandchildren Jaden and Ashley, Riely and Racine, Emilee and Matthew, Khale and Monet, and Craygen; and her great-grandchildren Mason, Kennley, and Eden.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who has loved and supported them during this difficult time, and to all those who made such a meaningful impact on Georgia’s life and helped make it so beautiful.
