Gerald Lobato (Sept 19, 1955-Nov 16, 2022), passed away at his home in Flora Vista, NM. He was single, and preceding him in death were his parents, Maclovio and Frances Lobato, and brother Albert Lobato. He is survived by his brothers Felix (Suzanne) Lobato, Farmington, NM, Ralph (Juanita) Lobato, Farmington, NM, Adrian (Maria) Lobato, Albuquerque, NM, and a sister Renee (Steve) Marathon, WI, maternal aunts, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was born in Farmington, NM, and graduated from Farmington High School. He moved to Albuquerque, NM to further his education at UNM, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. He was a US Army veteran, having served four years at Fort Sill, OK.
He held careers in construction, sales, and uranium mining, but his greatest enjoyment was from providing tree services and selling firewood through self-employment at Lobato Tree Service, which he was doing until health issues forced him to retire.
Gerald took care in his appearance and was always up for a good conversation. He attended the Aztec Senior Center and enjoyed going to Sun Ray Park and Casino to visit with friends and dance. Gerald loved to dance but his decline in eyesight made it difficult to continue.
Gerald was loved and will be missed by family and friends. Farmington Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington, NM on Wednesday, December 7 at 11am. Visitation (10am-10:30am) and recitation of the Holy Rosary (10:30-11am) will be held before the Funeral Mass. Burial at Memory Gardens in Farmington will follow the Funeral Mass. A meal will be held at St. Mary's Parish Hall after the burial.
