Glenn Lazenby passed away on August 5, 2025, in Farmington, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Laurie and James Lazenby, and his oldest brother, Jimmy Lazenby. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christina Lazenby; his daughters, Jessica Lazenby and her fiancé Jesse Burnett, and Savannah Brastad and her husband Bjorn Brastad; his son, Benjamin Lazenby; and his brother, Phil Lazenby. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Hunter and Aspen Henderson, and Behrett, Broxton, and Beatrix Brastad, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Glenn held numerous titles throughout his life, including Jed, Glennmore Jones, and Uncle Grin, but his favorites were Dad and Glennpa. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his driving force and his willing (sometimes reluctantly willing) audience. Throughout his life, his purpose was clear: to provide for those he loved and to make sure they never went a day without laughter. Glenn was known for his incredible, off-the-wall sense of humor and wit. He loved to create awkward, uncomfortable moments and never hesitated to speak his mind, even if no one asked. He delighted in entertaining his grandchildren with silly jokes, songs, and crazy dances. He just wanted to be the reason they laughed.

Born in Atlanta, GA, Glenn lived in many places across the United States, including California, New York, Virginia, and finally New Mexico. He also spent a year and a half on Midway Island while serving in the U.S. Navy. Wherever he went, Glenn formed lasting friendships that reflected his big heart and unforgettable personality. His impact on friends and loved ones across the country is a lasting tribute to a beautiful, unforgettable soul.

Glenn had a lifelong passion for music and was a talented guitarist and singer. One of his favorite songs, Soulshine by the Allman Brothers Band, was one he loved to sing at the top of his lungs, finding in it the inspiration and strength to keep moving forward in life:

“Soulshine, It’s better than sunshine. It’s better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Hey, now people don’t mind, We all feel this way sometimes. You got to let your soul shine, Shine ’til the break of day.”

Glenn’s soul continues to shine through the memories he left behind. As they say in the Navy, “Fair winds and following seas.” Or, in Glenn’s own words, spoken so often as his family walked out the door and now carried as his parting reminder and blessing to us all: “Be careful, think about what you’re doing, and don’t take anything for granted.”
