James Randall
Bodine
February 22, 1971 – June 1, 2026
Farmington Funeral Home
Starts at 11:00 am (Mountain time)
James Randall Bodine ("Randy") passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2026, at the age of 55.
Randy was born in Houston, Texas on February 22, 1971, to Stephen and Cynthia Bodine. The eldest of four, Randy spent much of his youth traveling the country with his family before leaving to study at the Phoenix Institute of Technology at the age of 16. An adventurous spirit and curious mind would lead him to many careers in his life, including telemarketer, door-to-door vacuum salesman, boilermaker, and eBay reseller. He retired early to disability in his thirties.
Randy was a man of many skills, interests, and hobbies, including paintball, Dungeons & Dragons, motorcycles, fishing, and gaming. He had a green thumb for growing things and was a great lover of animals, spending his final months tending his beloved dog Khaleesi and her litter of nine puppies. He was a long-time member of the Kingdom of the Outlands in SCA, where he practiced fencing and archery and was admitted into the Order of the Guardians of the Oasis.
But for those who loved him, Randy is best remembered for his big heart and generous spirit. No matter how little he had, he was always willing to share a meal or a listening ear. His loss will be felt by many, and he will be remembered by numerous friends and family.
Randy is survived by his sons Brandon and Erik Bodine, mother Cynthia (Nolen) Bodine, brothers Matthew Bodine and Andrew Bodine, sister Tiana (Bodine) Gibbs, niece Nicole Bodine, nephew Luke Bodine, and great-nephew Luthor Bodine.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Lorna Bodine, son Anthony ("Tony") Bodine, and father Stephen Bodine.
A memorial service will be held at Farmington Funeral Home on June 20 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his honor to Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico or the Diabetes Research Institute.
