Janet Sue Michael

Jan Michael — arguably the foremost expert of Henry VIII in the Four Corners region — passed from this world unexpectedly on January 2, 2022, at the age of 68, possibly to be reincarnated as a wolf. 

Jan spent her career in the healthcare field becoming a nurse's aide in 1976, a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1979, and a Registered Nurse in 1991. She was unabashedly intolerant of injustice toward the oppressed and was a financial supporter of the Human Rights Campaign. In her later years, Jan was most likely to be found crocheting gifts for her grandchildren and friends while watching Judge Judy, Home Town, or RuPaul’s Drag Race, or playing Spider Solitaire. She also was not one to giggle at a fart joke unless it was part of a British sitcom. 

Jan was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Florence, and survived by her husband Wally, her children Rachael, Sarah, and Mary, her siblings Cathy and Bob, and her grandchildren Daya, Elijah, Dennis, Logen, and Emmeline. 

Jan’s memorial service will take place on May 7, 2022 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Farmington Funeral Home, Farmington, New Mexico.
