Jeffrey William King

Fr. Jeffrey William King, age 76 of Farmington, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday April 14, 2026. Jeffrey was born on December 216, 1949, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late William Howard King and Margery Ruth VanValkenburgh.

He was raised in Tucson, AZ. and was the second son. He graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson in 1968 and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Arizonia in 1973. He enlisted into the United States Air Force from 1973 until 1975 as a 2nd Lt. (Active Duty) and from 1988 until 1991 as a 1st Lt. (In the reserves). He served during the Vietnam Era and Operation Desert Storm and received the National Defense Service Metal. Jeffrey was ordained a Priest in 1987. He served at many parishes across the diocese of Gallup with his last assignment being at St. Mary's and Sacred Heart Parishes in Farmington, NM. He was a Knights of Columbus member, poet, music lover, hiker and loved the great outdoors. He had a great devotion to St. Therese of Lisieux and Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He served as a priest for 38 years.

Surviving is his brother Gregory (Kathy) King and his sisters Sharon (Kevin) Knorr and Janice (Kevin) Dorff, two nieces Sarah (Mason) Berg, Michelle (Mario) Torres, 6 Great Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation and Viewing will be held on Monday April 20th, 2026, from 9:45 AM until 10:30, followed by the Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM and celebration of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th Street, Farmington, New Mexico. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, Blanco, New Mexico. A reception will follow burial at 2:30 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church Parish Hall.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jimmy Baylon, Norm Georgina, Michael Peterson, Ivan Lujan, Mark Varley and Allen Barnard.
