Jerry (Bud) V. Gonzales, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Farmington, New Mexico.

He was born on January 22, 1939, in Aztec, New Mexico, to the late Jerry and Rose Gonzales.

Bud enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, gathering wood, picking piñon, farming, gardening, and taking special care of his roses. He also enjoyed going to the casino.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his sons, Terry and Ronnie; four sisters, Marian Maes, Peggy Morlan, Martha Nicks, and Lucy Gonzales; and one brother, Abie Gonzales.

He is survived by his four brothers, Frank, Richard, Lucky, and Tim; his sister, Helen Blevins; his special friend, Adriana Gallegos; along with many nieces and nephews.

Those who knew him will remember his infectious smile and quiet strength. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service celebrating Bud’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Bloomfield. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery, with lunch afterward at the church.
