Jimmy Roy Adams Sr., 77, of Farmington, NM, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. Jimmy was born on July 27, 1947, in Las Vegas, NM, to Roy Walter Adams and Wilma Marie Bratcher Adams.
Jim served his nation during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. He owned HVACR companies in both Texas and Farmington. Jim was a member of the ARRL and an avid ham radio operator who loved talking with friends. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was a funny and loving person who always gave big hugs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Walter Adams and Wilma Marie Bratcher Adams; his brother, John Adams; his sister, Betty Adams; and his grandparents, Charles Adams, Jennie Ethel Warren Adams, Eaulah “Bliss” Bratcher, and Maggie Elizabeth Farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Ovidia; his sons, Jimmy Roy Adams (Lyneash); his stepson, Robert Wood; his daughters, Rachel Adams (Bret) and Lindsey Adams; his brother, Bill Adams; his sister, Judy; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Galena, Whitney, Issac, Aaliyah, and Megan.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on August 9th 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Kiwanis Shelter #1 3540 E. 30th St. Farmington, NM. Please bring a dish and your own drinks. Graveside services will be held on August 14th 2025 12:30 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM a reception will follow at Tomasita’s Mexican Restaurant 500 S. Guadlupe St. Santa Fe, NM
