It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Ray Rogers of Farmington, New Mexico on Monday, February 9, 2026, at home with his family by his side. John was born on September 6, 1945, to Ruby Joy and Charlie Lee Rogers (deceased) of Bloomfield, New Mexico.
John was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and attended New Mexico State University and was drafted into the Army. He served in the Vietnam war as a radar technician. After being honorably discharged, John came back to Farmington and became an electrician, first working for a small company and then for El Paso Natural Gas Company and finally working for PNM San Juan Generating Station for 30 plus years as an Instrumentation Planner. During and after retirement, John enjoyed bird hunting with his dog Sunny, fishing, camping, hiking and traveling with his wife, Gail.
He is survived by his wife Gail Marie Rogers, daughters Amanda Switzer-Sloan, Kira and Jooniper. Kimberly Elmore- Mike (deceased), Justin-Sarah, Calub, Ashley- Mirah, Matthew- Abby. Sarah Marabella- Peter, Kalub, Joseph. Sister Carol Edwards- Ed, Lee, Revy, Jim Richards.
The service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Farmington Funeral Home with burial at 12:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery.
