REMEMBERING JOHNNY BENNETT DENNISON

A Life of Love, Laughter, and Lasting Memories

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Johnny B. Dennison on January 30, 2026. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever remain in our hearts. We honor his memory and celebrate the remarkable man he was.

Our father Johnny B. was born for the Kinyaa’áanii-Towering House People Naakaii Dine’é — Mexican Clan

Born on February 22, 1934, in Pueblo Pintado, NM. Johnny B. Dennison was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Nellie G. Dennison and a loving father to 12 children. Roselyn Martinez, Hendrix Dennison, Dennis Dennison, Eddison Dennison, Marilyn Betoni, Vangie Dennison, Melvin Dennison, Gwendolyn Jimmie, Ellison Dennison, Sophia Means, John B. Dennison II, and Lonnie Dennison. He was also blessed to have a beautiful posterity of 33 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

Johnny B. is survived by his children, Roselyn, Hendrix, Dennis, Eddison, Marilyn, Vangie, Melvin, and Gwen. He is preceded in death by his wife Nellie G. Dennison of 55 years, sons Johnny B. Dennison II, Ellison Dennison, Lonnie Dennison, daughter Sophia Means. He has 6 grandchildren who have welcomed and embraced him on the other side.

Our father had a unwavering zest for life and pursued his passions with unmatched enthusiasm. Whether he was fixing cars, building structures, playing his harmonica and guitar, or simply spending time with his loved ones, he approached every moment with boundless energy and a moment to be young again. His positive spirit and his genuine love for life were contagious, bringing joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, our dad touched the lives of many through his selfless acts of kindness and generosity. He believed in giving back to his community and making a difference in the lives of others. Through his involvement with the Nageezi Chapter House and the schools in the community, he dedicated countless hours in helping those in need, leaving a lasting impact on the lives he touched.

Our father had a strong belief in our Saviour Jesus Christ, and he loved reading his scriptures in Navajo. He also sung verses from the bible in Navajo and share them with family and friends. His visit to Isreal with our mother holds a strong memory and left a deep devotion to his Christian beliefs.

As we reflect on the life of our dad Johnny B., our hearts overflow with treasured memories. From his infectious smile to the twinkle in his eyes, he had a remarkable ability to light up any room. We will forever remember the joyous family gatherings, the heartfelt conversations, and the shared moments of love and laughter that enriched our lives.
