Kathleen (Kathy) Louise Banks
One verse says it all, "Well done Good and Faithful Servant". Kathy was born on July 6th, 1956 in Evanston, Illinois to loving parents Donald and Anita. On Saturday April 11th 2026, surrounded by family Kathy went to be home and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Waiting for her was her son Devon that she could finally hold again. If there is a beach in Heaven, they are listening to the waves break and watching sunsets...
Over the years Kathy held several jobs, but her most important job titles were Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sponsor and Friend. She loved life, didn't know a stranger and was truly gifted at being everyone's best friend.
On April 6th, 1976 at the age of 20, Kathy took her last drink and drug and joined the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. Family and friends traveled into town this April 6th to celebrate her 49th year of sobriety. She had a passion to help people get clean and sober and share Jesus with them. Her desire to share her experience, strength, faith and hope impacted thousands of lives, a lasting legacy.
On January 29th, 1982 she met the love of her life Chuck. They fell in love on the Abilene Dance Floor and on January 15th, 1983 the ride of till death do us part began. They shared 43 wonderful years of marriage.
Devon was her first child followed by Mandy. Kathy's pride and joy were her kids, both a gift from God. Mandy and Jeremy blessed Kathy with a Grandson, Paxton Danger Przekurat on August 15th, 2016, thus inventing the PERFECT Grandma. Grandma was the role she was born for and EXCELLED at. Her family put such joy in her heart, to see her with her loved ones was to witness perfection.
One of her favorite phrases was "Where are your feet" which brought us all back to Earth and into the immediate moment. Today that phrase reminds us to keep breathing, to focus on the here and now and to remember all the countless blessings around us.
Preceded in death was her Son Devon, Father Don and Stepmother Beattie, Father-in-Law Bob and Mother-in-Law Mary and numerous other family members and friends.
Still here on Earth missing her is Kathy's Mother Anita, Husband Chuck, Daughter Amanda & Jeremy, Grandson Paxton, Sister Kari & Russell, Brother Erik & Corri, Sister-in-Law Marti & Billy, Brother-in-Law Buddy & Kati, Stepsisters April & Dave, Karen, Pam and numerous other family members.
