Kaytie Christine Florez, 23, of Bloomfield, beloved daughter, grand-daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend went home to her Heavenly Father on April 4, 2021.
Kaytie was born on September 8, 1997 in Farmington, NM to James Florez and Realynn (Marquez) Florez.
Kaytie graduated from Bloomfield High School in 2016. She attended San Juan College and received her Associates of Arts in Psychology in 2019. Kaytie continued her education with New Mexico Highlands University where she was looking forward to receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, with honors, this May. She had recently been accepted into the Master's Degree program for Social Work.
Family meant everything to Kaytie. She was the best Aunt. She had such a spontaneous personality. Her stubborn, strong willed spirit was filled with so much courage, willingness, and fearlessness. She brought a sense of comfort to anyone she met and is loved by so many. Kaytie you will always be our light.
Kaytie is survived by her parents; James Florez, Realynn (Marquez) Florez (Myron), sister; Kayla Jacquez (Devin), niece; Amia Jacquez, grandparents; Steve and Dolores Florez, Angelina Marquez, great grandparent; Florence Florez, Godparents; Adam and Desiraye Benavidez. She also left behind numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives all of whom she loved dearly. Kaytie was preceded in death by her grandparents; Bobby C. Marquez, great grandparents; Fermin Marquez & Mary Ann Archuleta, Solomon and Cleotilde Vallejos, Jose M. Florez, Chris & Vera Prespentt, and uncle; Emilio M. Florez.
A Rosary will be recited for Kaytie at 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 7378 US-64 in Blanco, NM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Blanco followed by interment at the Santo Nino Cemetery in Gobernador, NM officiated by Rev. Father Josh Mayer. Reception to follow interment at St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall.
