Kelly Don Lemons passed peacefully from this life on April 1st, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by the family he loved. He left this world and entered into Heaven to be reunited with those who went before him and Jesus Christ. Kelly was, above all else, a devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherever he went, he felt called to share his faith, never missing an opportunity to witness to others. Using a simple penny as a conversation starter, he would lovingly remind everyone he encountered that Jesus is the "One sent for them."
Kelly was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a brother whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Born on October 28th, 1955, Kelly was preceded by death by his father Robert Lemons and his mother Patsy Lemons.
Kelly is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Yvonne Lemons; his sons, Jeremiah Lemons and Nathan Lemons; and his daughters, Jennifer Marie Knight and Patricia Jo Hadden.
Kelly is also survived by his grandchildren: Michael Lemons, Myah Lemons, Kelsen Hill, Alessa Sanchez, Matthew Lemons, Cheyenne Perkins, Andrew Lemons, Isabella Lemons, Mariah Cline, Kelley Jacobs, Jerrie Knight, Rabecca Chenault, Ashley Kemmerer, Jessica Mize, Cole Hadden, Selena Brown, and Rene Ruiz.
Kelly's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Arthur, DJ, Sawyer, Raylynn, Grayson, Kinzi, Kain, Maci, Kamptyn, Karsyn, Trevenor, Warren, Timothy, Evelynn, Ivory, Harlie, and Everlie.
He is survived by his beloved Godson, Ryan Sheets. Also is survived by his God given grandson, Rob Romero.
Kelly worked throughout his life as a welder, project manager, and inspector in the oil industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and skilled craftsmanship. Outside of work, Kelly embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. His passions included racing, bowling, and mechanics, and he found great joy in cooking-especially making homemade bread and barbecue. He loved working with his hands, whether creating and repairing with metal or crafting projects from wood, always taking pride in what he built.
Kelly had a special gift for connecting with others, especially children. He delighted in showing them magic tricks and sharing meaningful stories that sparked laughter and wonder. He loved serving God through his passions for bread making, cooking, and building wooden boxes-simple, heartfelt acts that blessed others and reflected his belief in kindness and service in everyday life.
Kelly was bold and joyful in his devotion to the Lord Jesus. We will deeply miss his shouts of joy at every baptism and his unwavering willingness to share his faith. Wherever he went, Kelly made it known that God had placed people in his life so he could tell them about Jesus.
A service celebrating the life of Kelly will be held Saturday April 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 200 W. Sycamore Ave., Bloomfield, New Mexico 87413. A reception at the church will follow.
Instead of flowers, please send any donations to a church mission work, thank you.
