Kimberley Renee Brown

Kimberley Renee (Harrell) Brown was born on April 24, 1964, in Artesia, New Mexico, to William W. and Cheryl A. Harrell. She passed from this life on September 12, 2025, at home with her loving husband by her side, to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kim was baptized as a teenager at the Northside Church of Christ, Farmington, NM. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1982, She attended Oklahoma Christian College, where she graduated with an Accounting Degree in 1986. In 1996 Kim earned her CPA certification while working for Erwin, Newberry, and Parish Accounting Firm in Gallup, NM. She went on to hold a position in accounting at Washington Federal until she was offered and accepted the position as Controller of Finance with Gallup-McKinley County Schools and was eventually promoted to Assistant Superintendent over Finance with Gallup Schools. After several years she was asked by the Superintendent of Gallup Charter High School to become their Chief Financial Officer, and she accepted. She served the remainder of her career in that position.

Kim and her husband David served Gallup in many capacities including Gallup Church of Christ, Manuelito Children’s Home, Gallup Christian School, and “Wreaths Across America” for veterans. After retiring in 2020, David and Kim made their home in Flora Vista, New Mexico and remained active members of the Church of Christ in Farmington.

Kim is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years David M. Brown and by her stepdaughter Amanda (Brown) Archibald and her husband Adam, and granddaughters Shelby and Harley, parents Bill and Cheryl Harrell, brother Randy Harrell, and sister Teresa Cherington. She also had many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who fulfilled her life. Kim was preceded in death by her newborn daughter Cara in 1988.

Memorial services will be held at the Farmington Church of Christ at 401 W 20th St., Farmington, NM on September 27, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.

Kim’s care has been entrusted to Farmington Funeral Home.
