It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kristina Denise Carrillo, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Kristina left us on [date], surrounded by her loved ones. She was 37 years old.
Kristina was born on January 10, 1985, to Laverne Garcia and Dennis Carrillo. She was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, and sister. Kristina was the beloved granddaughter of Geno and Ester Carrillo, and Daniel and Alice Garcia. She grew up with her siblings Denise Carrillo, Isaia Carrillo, and Faith Carrillo, with whom she shared a deep bond of love, laughter, and support.
Kristina was a mother to Nicholas Begay, Evan Begay, Brianna Begay, and Ivan Begay, who were the light of her life. She was incredibly proud of her children, and loved unconditionally.
Kristina was born and raised in Shiprock N.M. where she lived out her last days. She loved being able to live close to her grandparents in Shiprock who she loved very much.
Known for her big, beautiful, and bright smile, Kristina earned the affectionate nickname “Cheesy,” a true testament to her infectious joy and positivity. Her warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her, and her smile could light up any room. Kristina had a heart full of love, and she always made everyone around her feel valued and appreciated.
Kristina’s family was her world. She was a loyal and loving daughter, a wonderful sister, and a devoted mother. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Laverne Garcia; her father, Dennis Carrillo; her children, Nicholas, Evan, Brianna, and Ivan; her siblings, Denise, Isaia, and Faith.
A celebration of Kristina's life will be held on June 26, 2025. In Farmington, New Mexico at Navajo Lake.
Kristina’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will never be forgotten. May her smile continue to brighten our days, even in her absence.
