Larry Thomas Schmeits

Larry Thomas Schmeits, 81, of Aztec, New Mexico, passed away on June 2026, in Aztec, New Mexico. Larry was born on November 16, 1945, in Randolph, Texas to parents Louis and Winona Schmeits.

Larry was in the Air Force. He later went to college and utilized his GI Bill. Larry also had 2 sons, James and Tom. He retired from the Az School district and later finished his career in the Oil and Gas business. He retired from Aztec in 2022. Larry was an avid fisher and hunter.

Larry is preceded by Louis Schmeits, Winona Sherry, and son-in-law Jack Sonser.

Larry is survived by sons James Schmeits, Thomas Schmeits, brother Ron Schmeits, sisters Mary Souser and Rebecca Curr, grandchildren Tommy Schmeits Jr., Sarah Schmeits, and Joann Schmeits.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 3:00pm at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache Street, Farmington, New Mexico.
