Lawrence C. Brousil, 79, of Aztec, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 16, 1946, to the late Henry and Theresa Brousil (nee Jany) in Chicago, Illinois.

Larry was a Union Boilermaker for Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co. for 40 years. He retired to New Mexico, where he first met Dema, and spent his remaining years. He loved fishing, golfing, and gardening. He also enjoyed testing his luck at the local casino and was an avid coin collector. Larry had an affinity for old and fast cars and was very fond of his Macaw, Louie.

Larry is preceded in death by his beloved life-partner, Dema Simonton, and parents Henry and Theresa Brousil (nee Jany).

His memory will be cherished by his loving children, Lisa (Noel) Blackman and Michael (Melissa) Brousil; his adored granddaughters, Jordan and Paige Blackman, and Alexandria Brousil; his dear sister, Susan (Dennis) Laff; his treasured nieces, Jessica (Jason) Munoz and Allison (John) Rutkowski; and his fond great-nephews and great-niece, Cooper and Max Munoz, and Henry and Sophie Rutkowski. Larry is also lovingly remembered by his life-partner’s children, Geri (Dave) Barndollar, Cheri (Matthew) Herrera, Teri Border (Ed Rascon), and Shane Simonton.
