Lawrence M. “Bronc” Williams, age 74 of Bloomfield, NM.  passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2023. He was born on December 6, 1948, in Silver City, New Mexico to the late Marion M. and Wanda L. Williams.

Bronc and his family lost his father due to a work accident while he was very young. His mother and sister (Gloria) did their best to raise him. The family moved a great deal through his school years. They lived in many places throughout New Mexico. He chose to enlist in the Navy and served aboard the USS Taylor. Once his enlistment was complete, he returned to his family. At twenty-two years of age, he accepted the Lord Jesus into his life. He completed his High School Equivalency exam and attended Bible college, eventually he decided to return to the military.  He enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. Division where he was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart Citation as well as other decorations and medals as the Nat. Def. Serv. Med., Vietnam Ser., GD Con., Com. Inf Badge., Com. Med. FE Badge. REC. Badge., Para Wings EX., Rif Exp., Pres Un. CIT., B.R.S.,70sers.,60SER. After his service in Vietnam, he served as a recruiter in the Denver, Colorado area. Once he left the military life, he did many jobs. He guided hunters in the Chama, NM area and drove trucks for several companies. His trucking job was with Graves Oil and Butane. While working at Graves, he was injured and could not return to driving. At that time, he opened His own business Bobcat Video Store where he worked until the economy made him close the store, during this time he also served his community as a Reserve Officer with the Bloomfield Police Dept. and the San Juan Sheriff’s Office. After closing the store, he had several jobs until his mom fell ill and he chose to devote his time to taking care of her. He took care of her until her passing. After that he fully retired and spent his time doing hobbies related to hunting and shooting. Bronc was a very Godly man who shared the Lord with everyone who would listen and many who didn’t. He devoted time every day to lift everyone he knew in prayer to the Lord. Those who were in need got extra attention in prayer.

Bronc was loved by many of us and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his sister Gloria Phifer (Carol John) of Ankeny Iowa, 2 nephews, one niece and 5 great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his best friend Donald “Donny” Jones (Jennifer) of Kirtland, NM.

Bronc will be laid to rest at 11:00 am Monday November 20, 2023 at Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, NM.
