Leighton Begaye

Leighton Begaye (35) was born on April 28, 1986 in Shiprock, New Mexico. The son of Matilda Yazzie from Yellow Rock Point, Utah and the late Leo Begaye from Red Mesa, Arizona. Leighton attended Red Mesa High School. He was the second oldest of nine children. He was brought up with one brother and seven sisters. Leighton traveled for work as a laborer and a carpenter. Leighton had no kids but considered his nieces and nephews as his own and was very helpful. He enjoyed meeting new people, laughing, hiking, traveling, helping others, doing yard-work, chopping/hauling woods, and being very adventurous. Leighton Begaye departed this life on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. He is going to be greatly missed and he will forever be in our hearts. Loved by all.
