Leon R. Anaya, 74, of Aztec, NM passed away on September 4, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joe and Angelina Anaya.
Leon was one of thirteen children, Leon and Larry were a unique set of twins born on separate days. He went to the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He came back home and started his family and his life as a concrete laborer. He took pride in his work and loved working alongside his sons Jared, Jeff, and his family and friends. He was a kind and loving father, he loved getting phone calls from his daughter Amanda and going on trips with his son Jermey. Leons grandkids were the love of his life, and he taught them to be jokesters from a very young age. He was very patriotic and passionate about God and his family; he passed that down to his grandkids. He would always remind you that "he was the boss" when helping him with a task. Leon will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Our family appreciates the love and support we have received during this difficult time.
He is preceded in death by his son Jeff Anaya, daughter Leal Anaya, parents Joe and Angelina Anaya, brothers Larry, Dean, and Joey Anaya, and grandparents Emilio and Rafelita Garcia.
Leon is survived by his sons Jermey Anaya (Karen), Jared Anaya (Melinda), daughter Amanda Anaya (Art), brothers Gerald, Henry, and Tracy Anaya, sisters Emily, JoAnn, Jennie, Vickie, Rose, and Priscilla, and grandchildren Esaia, Claudia, Corrina, Aaron, Arissa, Katelyn, Olivya, Jericho, Alonzo, Bidzill, Nathan, and Isaiah.
