Waynette Danley

February 27, 1954 — January 11, 2023

Linda "Waynette" Danley was born February 27, 1954, to Joe Waymond Phillips and Jeanette Denise Posey, in Roswell New Mexico. She was the first-born child of four. Waynette and her siblings; Dwain Phillips (Marion), Jo Lynn Trammell (Glenn), and Janice Smotherman (Robert) were raised in Tularosa, New Mexico. While in high school she was involved in; 4-H, national honor society, finished 6th in her graduating class, and was a majorette in her high school marching band.

She met Leroy Danley while attending Tularosa High, and married in May of 1972, having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2022. After marrying, they decided to move to Bloomfield, New Mexico, and then to Kirtland, New Mexico in 1979. Together they had three daughters; Lynette Reynolds (Don Reising), Tammi Head (Jeff) and Kayla Hawkins (Daniel), and four grandchildren; Trevor Head, Jaycelyn Head, Cole Hawkins, and Marley Hawkins.

Waynette involved in girl scouts as a troop leading, 4-H as a leader, a PTO president at Grace B. Wilson, and was involved in project graduation for multiple years. She was also an active member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, holding many callings throughout her life. She was a self-taught bookkeeper and was sought after by many employers throughout her life, due to her skills and attention to detail. She spent most of her career working in some aspect of construction and broadened her knowledge by learning to do construction estimates.

For Waynette, family was everything. She loved to go camping or boating with her husband, as well as taking "girl trips" with her daughters. She was also very involved in her grandchildren's lives whether, it be planning a "cousin's weekend" full of fun and adventures, going to their soccer games, gymnastics competitions, or showing up for any event that celebrated them.

Services for Waynette will be held Saturday January 21, 2023, at the LDS Church, 473 Co Rd 6100, Kirtland, NM. Services will begin at 11:00am. We invite all that attend to wear Waynette's favorite color, purple.
