Linda Irene Higgins, 72, of Farmington, New Mexico, peacefully left this earth, surrounded by family, as the Lord called her home on September 17, 2025. She was born to William Rowden Higgins and Goldie Irene (Carter) Higgins on October 13, 1952, in Hugoton, KS.
Linda graduated from Farmington High School and attended Nursing school in Arizona. While in Arizona, she met and married David Martin, with whom she was married for 18 years. She was employed at Smith’s for 25 years, during which time she held several positions, including manager and bookkeeper. She was the “Mom” of the store and built many friendships during her time there. Linda truly loved the Lord and spreading his word, not only locally, but also during her mission trips to Thailand, Honduras, Africa, and Rome. She invested her life into praying, encouraging people, and had a gift of giving to all! Her infectious laugh, quirky hats, and her joy for adventure will be remembered by all who loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Goldie, brother Tim Higgins, and her grandparents Leo and Archie Carter, and Clarence and Edna Higgins.
She is survived by her children, Jeremy Martin, Jason (Dawn) Martin, and Jodi (Jay) Sanders; her 10 wonderful grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden, Joshua, Jordan, Caleb, Aubrie, Devan, Samantha, Emmalina, and Sydney, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Olivia and Bryan.
