Liova Valencia, 72, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 6, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Born and raised in Bloomfield, Liova chose to raise her own family in the community she loved. She was a proud graduate of Bloomfield High School, Class of 1971. Liova devoted 33 years of dedicated service to Arizona Public Services, where she formed many lifelong friendships before retiring in 2012.
Liova was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso Valencia and Eleanor “Bertha” Valencia; her brothers, Jose “Big Joe” Valencia and Lawrence Lobato; her son, Delfin Ulibarri Jr.; her former husband and father of her children, Delfin Ulibarri Sr.; her niece, Jennifer Garcia; and her nephews, Francisco Rivera and Issac Valencia.
She is survived by her daughters, Lysandra Ulibarri and Lucinda Ulibarri; her sister, Rebecca Valencia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Liova will be remembered for her caring heart, joyful spirit, and uplifting sense of humor. She was a mother and friend to all who knew her, always welcoming others into her home with warmth and generosity. Her love for family was boundless, and she maintained close connections with extended relatives and friends throughout her life.
Liova is entrusted to the care of Farmington Funeral Home. A joint service honoring both Liova and her brother, Lawrence Lobato—who passed two days earlier on April 4, 2026—will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, Rosary at 9:30am and Mass at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 307 N. Church Street #B, Bloomfield, New Mexico. Following the service, interment will take place at the St. Mary's Cemetery, with a reception to celebrate their lives immediately afterward at St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
