Lora Bell Troxell, age 87, passed away on April 11, 2026 where she was welcomed into the gates of Heaven. She was born on March 26, 1939, to William Green Heflin Sr. and Neomi Juanita Chaney.
Lora grew up and attended school in Morton, Texas. At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Morton, TX where she grew up.
She was well loved by her family and known for her caring, loving, generous, and honest nature-sometimes too honest, in a way that made those around her smile (or cry). Lora was also stylish, spunky, and classy, who was never afraid to speak her mind. Her vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Lora was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She owned and operated her own hair salon in Kirtland, NM for many years. She also served her community by driving a school bus for Bloomfield School District for several years. Many summers were spent custom harvesting for the family business.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren lovingly knew her as "Nanny".
She enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren when she was able to attend their events. She also spent many hours reading and gardening. She occasionally enjoyed trying her luck at the casino or just driving around seeing what she could see.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Wilma Dolle, Billie Raether, Wanda Reeves, Tiny Womack, and Maxine Hudgins; her brothers, Wilson Heflin and William Heflin Jr.; her former husband, Darrell Dobson; and her husband, Doyle Troxell.
She is survived by her four children: Tanya Lucero (Anthony) of Farmington, NM Lisa Hazzard (Kenny) of Farmington, NM Darrell Dobson (Belinda) of Morton, TX, and Jimmie Dobson (Rhonda) of Bloomfield, NM. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and her sister, Doris Ann Taylor.
Lora will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her smile, style, and spirit will live on in the hearts of her family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Farmington Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Morton Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
