In Loving Memory of Luz Estela Porras, 72, a resident of Corrales, New Mexico, who passed away on August 29, 2026, in Farmington NM. She was born on January 17, 1954, in Cusihuiriachic, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Paz Garcia and Maria Ramirez Garcia.

She was a woman whose life was defined by love, sacrifice, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to her family. At 72 years old, she leaves behind a beautiful legacy that can be seen in the lives of the people she cared for and the love she gave so generously. As an immigrant, she came to this country with courage and determination, working tirelessly to build a life for herself and her family. She worked as a farm worker and a cleaning lady, never afraid of hard work and always doing whatever was necessary to provide for the people she loved. Her hands, though tired from years of work, were also the hands that cooked, baked, planted, comforted, and cared for those around her.

She was a loving mother to her two beautiful children, who were among the greatest joys of her life. She was kind, nurturing, thoughtful, and selfless. She had a way of making the people around her feel cared for and loved, often putting the needs of others before her own. For many years, she devoted herself to caring for her brother. She gave her time, strength, patience, and love without hesitation, showing the true depth of her compassion and the importance she placed on family.

She found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved planting and watching things grow, cooking meals for the people she loved, and baking with care and affection. Her food was more than something to eat—it was one of the ways she showed her love. Through her cooking, her home, and her gentle presence, she created memories that her family will carry with them forever. Her life was not always easy, but she met every challenge with strength and perseverance. She built a life through hard work, love, and sacrifice, and in doing so, gave her children and family something far greater than material things: a lasting example of what it means to love deeply, care selflessly, and never give up.

Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue to live through her children, her family, and every person whose life she touched. Her kindness, her nurturing spirit, her recipes, her garden, her laughter, and the memories made around her will remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She was a mother, a sister, a caretaker, a provider, and a woman who gave so much of herself to others. Above all, she was deeply loved. Her life was a gift, her memory a treasure, and her love will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Porras; parents, Paz Garcia and Maria Ramirez Garcia; brothers, Paz Garcia JR, Isreal Garcia, Victor Garcia, and Guillermo Garcia; sister, Isidora Garcia Palomino; paternal grandparents, Braulio Garcia and Guadalupe Tabarnier; maternal grandparents, Ramon Ramirez and Luz Ramirez; and great grandchild, Gregorio Munoz.

She is survived by her son, Rodolfo Garcia and wife Christine Garcia; daughter, Dora Garcia; brothers, Mauricio Garcia, Rogelio Garcia, Joel Garcia and wife Claudia Falcon; grandchildren, Dora Gomez Jaquez, Josefina Garcia, Stephany Gomez Munoz, Alexander Garcia, Luz Idalia Gomez, Socorro Gomez Tso, and Maria I Gomez; great grandchildren, Maria Isabel Munoz, Francisco Gomez, Fatima Munoz, Amerigo Jaquez, Mia Garcia, Damian Munoz, Ana Garcia, Ezra Jaquez, Leo Garcia, Delilah Jaquez, and Sebastian Alexander; and great great grandchild, Analeigha Munoz.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmington NM. Visitation will begin at 09:45 AM, followed by the Rosary at 10:30 AM and Funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, NM. A reception will be held from 1:00-3:30 PM at 1441 E Blanco Blvd, Bloomfield.

Pallbearers will be Rodolfo Garcia, Mauricio Garcia, Alexander Garcia, Francisco Gomez, Daykoro Munoz, Brandon Tso, and Gerardo Jaquez.
