Lyle Merilatt

Lyle Buford Merilatt born May 14, 1935, in Clayton NM peacefully passed away April 30, 2025, in his home in Farmington NM at the age of 89. Lyle was born in Clayton NM on May 14, 1935, to Carl Stebbin Merilatt and Cyvilla Inez Merilatt of Clayton, NM. Lyle is the oldest of three boys. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Daniel and Marion.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 71 years, Wilma L Merilatt, his half-brother Wallace Kimbell, sons Timothy Merilatt (Jan) and Craig Merilatt (Denise), daughter MeLayne Shaull (Tony). Grandchildren, Timothy Merilatt (Angela), Kendra Bruington (Jeremy), Krysten Moore (James), Jonathan Merilatt (Gretchen), Celina Marshall (Duane), Will Merilatt, Nick Merilatt (Rachael), Indy Shaull (Chelsie) Nandry Rady (Tom), Dalane Shaull (Lisa). Great Grandchildren, Emily Smith (Jax), Koby Bruington, Jacey Bruington, Aiden Ryals, Paisley Ryals, Roman Ryals, Kinsley Shaull, Daniella Moore, Courtney Kyle (Jesus), Natalie Vigil, Emily Marshall, Maxwell Marshall, Alayna Morrison. Great Great Grandchildren, Atticus Smith, Gideon Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

Lyle loved his Savior, Christ Jesus, people, and he enjoyed helping others. His was a life of warmth, kindness, generosity, and an infectious, often mischievous smile.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday May 8th, 2025 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St., Farmington, New Mexico 87401
